এই বক্তব্য আজও প্রাসঙ্গিক। কারণ আধুনিক সমাজেও মানুষ অনেক সময়- বংশকে সত্যের মানদণ্ড বানায়, দল বা মতবাদকে অন্ধভাবে অনুসরণ করে, ধর্মীয় ব্যক্তিদের প্রশ্নাতীত মনে করে, কিংবা সামাজিক রীতিনীতিকেই “ঈশ্বরপ্রদত্ত” বলে ধরে নেয়।
অর্থাৎ “নাম” বদলেছে, কিন্তু অন্ধ আনুগত্যের প্রবণতা একই রয়ে গেছে।
“হুকুম দেয়ার অধিকার শুধু আল্লাহরই” – এর প্রকৃত অর্থঃ

অন্যদিকে আল্লাহকেন্দ্রিক ন্যায়ভিত্তিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি মানুষকে আত্মসম্মান, বিবেক ও নৈতিক সাহস শেখায়।
“কিন্তু অধিকাংশ মানুষ এটা অবগত নয়”
আয়াতের শেষ অংশটি অত্যন্ত বাস্তবধর্মী। ইতিহাসে সত্যের অনুসারী সবসময় সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ ছিলো না। অধিকাংশ মানুষ সমাজ, পরিবার, প্রচলিত সংস্কার ও আবেগের প্রভাবে চলতে স্বাচ্ছন্দ্যবোধ করে।
